Nike announced its fiscal year 2021 fourth-quarter financial results. Fourth-quarter revenue of $12.34 billion, compared with $6.313 billion a year earlier; net profit of $1.509 billion, compared with a loss of $790 million a year earlier. Fourth-quarter revenue in Greater China rose 17% year-over-year to $1.93 billion. full-year fiscal 2021 revenue was $44.538 billion, compared with $37.403 billion in the previous year.

Adidas reports results for the first half and second quarter of 2021. Revenues for the first half of the year were €10,345 million, up 40% year-on-year. Operating profit for the first half of the year was 1,248 million euros, and net profit from continuing operations was 890 million euros. Second-quarter sales increased 55% to €5,077 million ($5,995 million). Operating profit of 543 million euros in the second quarter improved to 10.7 percent overall. Net profit of 387 million euros in the second quarter turned to profitability.

German sporting goods manufacturer PUMA reported preliminary results for the second quarter of 2021, with sales improving by approximately 96% to €1,589 million ($1.88 billion) based on continued sales momentum for the brand and strong growth in all regions, particularly North America. Earnings before interest and taxes were €109 million, compared to a loss of €115 million in the same period last year.

Anta Group announced its first half-year 2021 results. Group revenue of RMB22.81 billion (US$3.545 billion) increased by 55.5% year-on-year; profit attributable to shareholders increased by 131.6% to RMB3.84 billion, achieving a record high in both revenue scale and profitability. Among the two main brands, Anta brand revenue increased by 56.1% to RMB10.58 billion, while Feile brand revenue increased by 51.4% year-on-year to RMB10.82 billion.

U.S. athleisure brand SKECHERS reported second-quarter 2021 results. Quarterly sales of $1.658 billion compared to $729 million in the same period of the previous year. Quarterly net income was $137 million, compared to a net loss of $68.1 million in the same period a year earlier.

Yoga apparel brand lululemon Athletica inc. reported results for the second quarter of its fiscal year ended August 1, 2021. Net revenue for the quarter was $1.451 billion, compared to $903 million in the prior-year quarter. Quarterly net income was $208 million, compared to $86.8 million in the same period last year.

Under Armour reported results for the second quarter of 2021. Quarterly net revenue was $1.351 billion, compared to $708 million for the same period in the prior year. Quarterly net income was $59.21 million, compared to a net loss of $183 million in the prior-year period.

Asics has announced its results for the first half of 2021. Net sales for the period were 209,478 million yen ($1.92 billion), compared to 146,897 million yen for the same period of the previous year. Operating profit for the period was 23,993 million yen, compared with an operating loss of 3,873 million yen for the same period of the previous year. Net income for the period was 12.35 billion yen, compared with a net loss of 6.266 billion yen in the same period of the previous year.

Sportswear brand Li Ning announced that its net profit for the first half of 2021 rose strongly by 1.87 times year-on-year. For the six months ended June, Li Ning recorded a net profit of 1.962 billion yuan and revenue rose 65% year-on-year to 10.2 billion yuan ($1.585 billion). At the end of June, the number of Li Ning points of sale (excluding Li Ning Young) totaled 5,704, a net decrease of 80 from the end of the previous quarter and a net decrease of 208 year-to-date. The number of Li Ning Young points of sale totaled 1,041, a net increase of 26 from the end of the previous quarter and a net increase of 20 years to date.

Inditex, the parent company of Zara and the Spanish apparel retail giant, announced its results for the first half of the fiscal year 2021 (February-July). Net sales for the period were 11,936 million euros ($14.1 billion), compared to 8,033 million euros in the same period of the previous year. Net profit for the period was 1,272 million euros, compared with a net loss of 195 million euros in the same period of the previous year.

Sweden’s H&M (Hennes & Mauritz) announced results for the second quarter of its fiscal year. Net sales for the quarter were SEK 46,509 million ($5,415 million), compared with SEK 28,664 million in the same period of the previous year. Net profit for the quarter was SEK 2,767 million, compared with a net loss of SEK 4,991 million for the same period the previous year. Net sales for the first half of the fiscal year were SEK 86,569 million, compared with SEK 83,612 million for the same period of the previous year. Net profit for the period was SEK 1,697 million, compared with a net loss of SEK 3,063 million for the same period of the previous year.

Uniqlo’s parent company Fast Retailing has announced results for the first nine months of its fiscal year (September 2020-May 2021). Revenues for the period were 1,698 billion yen ($15.5 billion), compared with 1,544.9 billion yen in the same period a year earlier. Operating income for the current period was 227.8 billion yen, compared with 132.3 billion yen for the same period of the previous year. Net income for the current period was 151.3 billion yen, compared with 90.6 billion yen in the same period of the previous year. In the March-May quarter, revenue was 495.2 billion yen, operating profit was 59.9 billion yen, and net profit was 45.4 billion yen.

Retail apparel company Gap Inc. reported results for the second quarter of 2021 ending in July, achieving net sales of $4.2 billion for the period, a 29% jump from last year and a 5% increase from the same period in 2019 before the outbreak, a record high for the same period in more than a decade. By brand, Old Navy achieved net sales of $2.39 billion in the second quarter, Gap Brands net sales of $970 million for the same period, Banana Republic net sales of nearly $500 million, and Athleta net sales of $341 million, up 35 percent from 2019. Net income for the quarter was $258 million, compared to a net loss of $62 million in the prior-year period.
