About Chloé

Chloé is from Paris, France, and was founded in 1952 as a women’s wear brand, with eyewear, perfume, bags, shoes, and boots gradually added to the collection.
In the 50 years of the brand’s history, Chloe boldly used designers from different countries and different design styles. Chloe can be considered one of the few fashion brands that do not rely on their own fame, but only on their outstanding designers as a call to action.

Chloé, the French luxury fashion brand, recently received the prestigious Benefit Corporation (abbreviated as B-Corp) certification. With this honor, Chloé joins the ranks of Allbirds and Patagonia as a company that truly stands for environmental sustainability.

B-Corp was founded in 2006 by B-lab, a nonprofit organization that independently tracks and determines the social and environmental impact of businesses.

B-Corp’s certification includes a rigorous assessment to verify scores. Most questions include financial transparency, employee demographics, compensation and benefits, and energy sources for supply chain facilities, as well as monitoring of waste production.

Chloé is unique in that it is the first luxury fashion brand to receive such an honor. However, it was no accident that it was able to receive the B-Corp honor, as Gabriela Hearst launched its first collection of recycled, reprocessed, or surplus jackets shortly after being named creative director.

Compared to the previous line, Chloé’s new Nama shoes use 80% less water to produce and emit 35% fewer greenhouse gases. In addition, this approach is reflected in the carbon footprint, as Chloé’s emissions have dropped by 400%.

Chloé CEO Riccardo said, “We strongly believe that we need to take responsibility for the impact we have on people and the planet, change the way we do business and actively participate in building a better world. b-Corp has provided us with a powerful framework to accelerate and guide this transformation. We are proud of this achievement as well.”

Regarding the B-Corp designation, Chloé emphasized that the certification will be used to solidify their reputation as a sustainable company, rather than as a marketing tool. chloé CEO Riccardo Bellini said, “In addition to being proud to be a company, we aim to inspire many others to join. We have upgraded our operations, governance, and policies so that we can operate in a more environmentally and socially responsible way.”
